I am a dedicated and licensed special education teacher, who also has experience teaching decoding focused literacy intervention.
I recently graduated with an M.Ed in Teaching Special Education from Regis College. Last year, I graduated summa cum laude from Regis College with a B.A in Secondary Education and English and a Writing minor. I have passed all of my MTELs to teach students with moderate disabilities across grades PK-12, as well as am licensed as an Academic Teacher in English (grades 5-12), and as an Academic Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities (grades 5-12).
I have exhibited immense dedication to my content area (ELA), through seeking further publication and growth. I was nominated to represent Regis College at the Intercollegiate Poetry Festival sponsored by Mass Poetry, and have been published for my writing and photography. I have also received the Mary C. Bryan Award for my writing at Regis College, and have experience editing as well as preserving writing.
I motivate my students through meeting them where they are at academically, behaviorally, and socially, as well as show them the power their words have (and to use them for good)!

“Oscar Wilde once stated, ‘To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.’ I knew from a young age that I aspired to have a positive impact on others. Whether from becoming an English special educator or through attaining publication for my creative writing, I want to leave a long-lasting, positive impression and mark on the world.
Receiving the Sigma Tau Delta Junior Scholarship is an immense honor. I am a rising senior at Regis College, where I am a Secondary Education + English major and will soon be completing my Writing minor. I am also in the 4+1 Teaching Moderate Disabilities track. This path will allow me to teach students of varying ability statuses the power their words have. Through Regis College, I have gained experience mentoring first-generation students (being one myself). Prior to Regis, I also have experience with teaching nonverbal students and underserved students of varying ability statuses. I want to inspire and uplift my future students to use their words for good and foster both academic and creative development as I progress in my studies to become a special educator. Receiving the E. Nelson James Junior Scholarship makes this goal more attainable, and I will be forever grateful.”
